Minecraft's oceans are huge and beautiful, but after finding shipwrecks, ruins and monuments, there are few reasons to keep exploring them. I think an ocean-focused update could make sailing and exploration much more rewarding.
🌊 Dynamic oceans: Add mostly visual waves that become stronger during storms, with boats gently moving with them.
🛶 New boats: Add canoes and small sailing boats, while keeping the current boat as the basic option.
🏝️ Coastal villages: Villages could generate on islands, with docks, lighthouses, fishing areas and maritime villagers such as sailors and navigators.
🏴☠️ Pirate ships: Rare ships could appear across the ocean, inhabited by skeleton pirates and a pirate captain. The captain could drop a unique Pirate Sword and nautical loot.
🔱 Trident remodel: Give the existing Trident a more detailed, ancient oceanic design while keeping its mechanics.
🏛️ Atlantis: A very rare, gigantic circular underwater dungeon could be the update's main discovery. Players would progress toward its center, facing unique aquatic enemies and ancient ruins.
At the center would be the Corrupted King of Atlantis, wearing a broken crown and wielding a legendary Master Trident. Defeating him could reward the Master Trident and crown fragments.
The goal isn't to turn Minecraft into a traditional RPG, but to make the ocean feel alive and worth exploring.
Make the ocean worth crossing.
