I am extremely frustrated with the Nintendo purchase flow for Minecraft Dungeons II on the official Minecraft website.
The product page shows only one generic “Nintendo” link. It does not clearly tell users that the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions are separate products, or that there is no upgrade path between them.
I intended to play on Switch 2 and followed the official Minecraft website’s Nintendo link. I purchased the Switch version and only afterward realized that a separate Switch 2 version exists.
I am not asking for a refund. Nintendo’s store does distinguish the two products, and I accept that I ultimately bought the Switch version.
My complaint is specifically about the official Minecraft website. If two separate versions are sold at launch and cannot be upgraded between, that is important purchasing information and should be shown before users leave the official site.
Please:
- separate the Switch and Switch 2 purchase links;
- clearly state that they are separate products;
- clearly state whether an upgrade path exists.
A single “Nintendo” button is not sufficient for this situation. The current purchase flow is unnecessarily confusing and should be fixed so other customers do not make the same mistake.
