The Village and Pillage did wonders for spicing up the trading system and overall variety of Villagers, but I think it is time to take a step back and fix a couple of longstanding issues that remain.
-Villager Pathfinding on Bedrock is pretty bad, I built a simple three story hotel for my villagers to stay at, and I found that villagers would often struggle to access the front entrance. This forced me to add another entrance at the side. Additionally, villagers have massive problems with verticality in general, not just using ladders and vines, but stairs as well. We need better Villager AI similar to how Allays were improved a couple years ago.
-A trading overhaul is sorely needed. After the nerf to zombie curing for discounts, I no longer find the struggle to infect/cure my villagers worth the frustration. This mechanic has become incredibly dated not only from the obvious cruelty concerns. Villagers who get attacked by zombies are guaranteed to die on easy mode, and have a 50 percent shot of dying on normal, rendering this mechanic functionally useless unless you play on hard. Villagers should reward long term trading with permanent discounts that operate on a gifting system. Specific villagers could request items relating to their current profession. Finding these items awards said discounts.
