Currently, Bedrock Edition limits the off-hand slot to a very small list of items (Shields, Totems of Undying, Arrows, Fireworks, and Maps). In Java Edition, players can place almost any item—including torches, blocks, food, and tools—into their off-hand.
Bringing full dual-wielding and off-hand functionality to Bedrock Edition would greatly improve Parity between platforms and significantly enhance the gameplay experience:
Building: Placing blocks from the off-hand while using a tool in the main hand would streamline large build projects.
Mining & Exploration: Holding torches in the off-hand while mining makes cave exploration much smoother.
Combat & Survival: Having quick access to food or splash potions in the off-hand improves the overall flow of combat.
Since touch controls, gamepads, and keyboards are all supported on Bedrock, mapping a dedicated off-hand interaction button would give all Bedrock players across consoles, mobile, and PC the freedom they deserve. Please make off-hand parity a reality!
