As I have seen a few others say online, I really think the dappled forest should spawn as its own forest biome instead of a sub-biome of the plains. Unlike the flower forest, or the pale garden, these autumnal forests are typically vast swathes of normal forests and so would make much more sense to be a colder variant of the normal forest. This would then allow for it to act as a transitional biome between normal forests and taigas, especially given that spruce trees also generate there making a much more aesthetically pleasing environment.
Currently all dappled forest biomes I have seen end up looking very out of place as they are bright orange, small, and entirely surrounded by open land, the orange is of course not a problem as I love the look of the biome, however, I feel it would look nowhere near as out of place if it spawned next to other forests and taiga as mentioned before. I do hope Mojang considers changing the spawn location and frequency of these biomes as I think they are very visually stunning and just wish for more cohesion in their placement.
Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
