Bears. They can be fierce and huge, as well as small and cute. They can catch fish, steal honey from bees, and eat berries and meat. All of this already exists in Minecraft, but there are no bears. There are already pandas and polar bears, but polar bears do not hunt fish and are mostly passive. A brown or black bear could live in forests, eating berries and hunting animals and fish. It would not attack the player because it saw them. If the player got very close, the bear would growl and then attack. A mother bear with cubs would be especially aggressive. A mother bear would spawn with 1-3 cubs. The bear could interact with existing mechanics: catching fish, eating berries, and trying to get honey from beehives, after which the bees would attack it. Ruined hives could also be added - empty hives with no honey or bees near trees. The bear could have mechanics similar to the temporary taming of an ocelot or fox. If the player does something good for it, the bear stops seeing them as a threat. It remains wild, but protects the player from hostile mobs. The bear could defend its territory and food, climb blocks, and dig the ground, but would not chase the player forever. Dens could be added under fallen trees and in mounds, as well as scaring bears away with a horn sound. A bear altered by pillager magic could also be added as a mount or tameable animal, along with red pandas and koalas. Bamboo already exists for red pandas, while eucalyptus could be added together with koalas.
