Copper Tools and Armor

I'll be honest, I really enjoyed the copper tools and armor. It's a good starter when you don't have iron yet and is a nice orange. But that's the thing: copper oxidizes. Every copper block does it over time so why don't armor and tools do the same? I'd love to see a little feature like that for copper tools and armor to oxidize. Green armor would be cool!
