Firstly, I’d like to thank Mojang for giving us the opportunity to test the Switch 2 version, as being able to play Minecraft with improved performance has always been a dream of mine as a Nintendo player.
Firstly, I’d like to highlight an issue with the controller controls: at times (particularly when exiting a world and returning to the main menu), the controller stops responding, and you can only resume normal operation by using the touchscreen to return to the previous menu. That’s one issue; secondly, I’d like to see a mouse mode added to the Switch 2 version. The current version feels more like a Bedrock Edition that’s merely unlocked with updated features; I hope the Switch 2 version will make better use of the Nintendo Switch 2 console’s unique capabilities.
Furthermore, I’ve noticed that when playing older Survival mode save files that I’ve progressed quite far in, the frame rate consistently hovers around 30–40 FPS regardless of the graphics settings. This is rather frustrating, as even the Nintendo Switch 1 version maintains a steady 60 FPS with the exact same graphics settings. I’m not sure what’s causing this, but I hope the team can resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Many thanks!
