The Albatross: Ocean Gliders, Weather Forecasters & Aerial Scouts

Description:
Add the Wandering Albatross to Deep Oceans and Stony Shores. They bring life to empty skies and introduce a unique egg-hatching and trust mechanic. They drop no unique items when killed, protecting this vulnerable species.
Hatching & Imprinting:
Wild pairs lay a single, fragile Albatross Egg on rocky cliffs. The egg cannot be moved, even with Silk Touch. Hostile mobs will try to trample it. If a player stays nearby and protects the egg until it hatches, the chick imprints on them. Feeding the chick raw fish secures its permanent trust as an adult.
Following Behavior:
Trusted adults never walk on land. Instead, they glide in majestic circles high above your head, keeping pace with boats or sprinting. If you enter a cave or house, it perches on the roof or a nearby tree, waiting for you to return to the open sky.
Unique Utilities:
  • Storm Warning: Minutes before a thunderstorm, it flies down to float on the water and squawks loudly, warning you to seek shelter before Phantoms spawn.
  • Aerial Scout: While gliding above, it spots hidden hostiles (like Creepers behind a hill or wall) and dips its wings toward their location to alert you.
  • Phantom Deterrent: Its presence in the sky naturally scares Phantoms. While it circles above your boat or base, Phantoms will not swoop down at you.
