Stupid happy ghast mechanics

I wanna say that the fact the happy ghast just flies away when you have a harness on it is stupid. If I get off the happy ghast to break something or replace a block I shouldn't have to chase the damn thing across my world. Then i get it just for it to fly away as soon as I run out of blocks and need a refill. Then again I got off of it to far up and it was just flying across the sky impossible for me to get to. So why when I have the harness on its still impossible to use
