Minecraft has several structures inspired by ancient civilizations, such as the Egyptian Desert Pyramid and Jungle Temple. I think it would be amazing to expand this idea by adding more ancient civilizations to the world.
One of the best possibilities would be Mesopotamian ziggurats, inspired by the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian civilizations.
Ziggurats could generate very rarely in deserts, plains, or other suitable biomes. From the outside, they could look like enormous ancient stepped temples, while the inside could function as a dungeon with multiple levels, hidden rooms, traps, puzzles, and valuable loot.
They could also be surrounded by the remains of an ancient Mesopotamian settlement, with mud-brick buildings, walls, small temples, statues, and ancient roads.
For example, the structure could take inspiration from famous ziggurats such as the Great Ziggurat of Ur, while still having a distinctly Minecraft-style design rather than being an exact historical reconstruction.
I think this would fit Minecraft extremely well because the game already uses ancient structures as exploration points. Adding Mesopotamian, Greek, Roman, and other ancient-inspired structures could make exploration of the Overworld feel much more diverse and mysterious
The Egyptian pyramids showed that ancient civilizations can work beautifully as Minecraft structures. Why not give Mesopotamia its own dungeon too?
I would love to see a giant ancient ziggurat appear on the horizon during exploration.
