When you place a block directly above a beacon in Minecraft, it completely disables the beacon instead of just stopping the beam at the block. I think it would make more sense if the beacon beam simply stopped where the block was placed and still allowed the beacon to work normally underneath it. This would make building around beacons a lot more convenient, especially when you want to use blocks above or around the beacon without completely losing its effects.
