I think Minecraft should add a cloud sync feature for single-player worlds, allowing players to access and continue their worlds across different PCs.
Currently, worlds are stored locally on the device they were created on. This means that if someone plays Minecraft on multiple computers, they have to manually copy or transfer their world files between devices. This can be inconvenient and also creates a risk of losing progress if a computer fails or the world file is accidentally deleted.
A cloud sync system could automatically upload a player's worlds to their Minecraft/Microsoft account and synchronize them across devices. When launching Minecraft on another PC, the player could simply download or sync their existing worlds and continue playing where they left off.
Ideally, the system could also include:
- Automatic backups of synced worlds
- The ability to choose which worlds are synced
- Conflict detection if a world was played on multiple PCs
- Manual upload/download options
- Version history so older versions of a world can be restored
This would be especially useful for players who have a desktop and laptop, frequently switch computers, or want additional protection against losing years of progress.
Minecraft already has account-based features and cloud-based services, so adding optional cloud world synchronization would make playing across multiple PCs much more convenient while giving players an extra layer of protection for their worlds.
