    Similar sounding issue.

    Minecraft for Windows worked fine in June 2026(ish) but now fails to start on a Ryzen 5 5600G with integrated Radeon Vega 7. The window appears, screen goes black, desktop freezes.
    Windows logs LiveKernelEvent 141 (GPU engine timeout) and writes a WATCHDOG
    dump naming Minecraft.Win[dows.exe] as the implicated process.

    Java Edition is unaffected, and runs as normal.

    SYSTEM
    Windows 11 25H2 (10.0.26200); Ryzen 5 5600G / Radeon Vega 7, no discrete GPU;
    driver 31.0.21925.1001 (Adrenalin 26.5.2); ASRock A520M-HVS, BIOS P2.10;
    32GB DDR4-3200. Minecraft version: [FILL IN]

    ALREADY TRIED, NO EFFECT
    - AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode, then clean reinstall of Adrenalin 26.5.2
    - Minecraft repaired, then deleted and reinstalled (now at version 1.26.5101.0)
    - Minecraft Preview on a separate drive fails identically, producing a second
      WATCHDOG dump with the same signature
    - options.txt has never been created, so the game has never completed first run since reinstall

    EVIDENCE THIS IS NOT THE GPU OR DX12
    3DMark Night Raid (DX12) completes normally: 16206 overall / 17086 graphics.
    Minutes of sustained DX12 load, no timeout, no dump. Portal 2 (DX9) also fine.
    Fault appears specific to Bedrock's renderer, not the GPU, driver install, or DX12 generally.

    I have the same issue on Minecraft Bedrock 26.51 (1.26.5101.0).

    System:
    Windows 11 Pro 64-bit build 26200
    Ryzen 5 5600GT with integrated Radeon Graphics
    16 GB RAM
    AMD Adrenalin 26.5.2 (31.0.21925.1001)

    Minecraft freezes during startup: the window becomes black, then white, and Windows reports that Minecraft is not responding.

    Reliability Monitor records LiveKernelEvent 141. WinDbg analysis of 3 WATCHDOG dumps reports:

    VIDEO_ENGINE_TIMEOUT_DETECTED (141)
    IMAGE_NAME: amdkmdag.sys
    MODULE_NAME: amdkmdag
    FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: LKD_0x141_IMAGE_amdkmdag.sys
    FAILURE_HASH: {48b738dd-5a92-7ff8-63d0-f075fc680fe0}

    Affected dumps:
    WATCHDOG-20260921-1138.dmp
    WATCHDOG-20260921-1239.dmp
    WATCHDOG-20260921-1455.dmp

    I completely removed/reinstalled the AMD driver with AMD Cleanup Utility. I also tested AMD Adrenalin 26.1.1, with the same result.

    I completely reinstalled Minecraft and tested it before restoring worlds or add-ons. The issue remained.

    Minecraft Java Edition works normally on the same PC.

    The same LiveKernelEvent 141/amdkmdag.sys failure occurs with different AMD drivers and a fresh Minecraft installation.

    I have a solution!

    AMD cleanup utility to remove Ryzen driver (going through safe mode), then install the last version of that driver from 2023. This works fine with the current version of Minecraft bedrock.

    The first version of the AMD driver in 2026 does not work (still producing the LiveKernelEvent 141 errors on startup). I haven’t tried any versions between those two, because of the time it takes to clean up and reinstall, but some time in 2024 or 2025 AMD broke their driver’s comparability with Minecraft.

    Because AMD’s Ryzen 5 driver is no longer being updated, some more demanding games are asking for it to be updated to the latest version, which is why I had updated from 2023 to 2026 and inadvertently broken Minecraft. This is therefore not a long-term viable solution, capable of running Minecraft and demanding games - but it does get Minecraft back in the mean time.
