Dear Mojang,
I have an idea for a new Minecraft feature called Resin.
In many Redstone machines, traps, and flying machines, Slime Blocks are extremely useful because they make blocks stick together. However, Slime Blocks take up an entire block space, making some machines bulky, difficult to compact, and sometimes visually ugly.
Resin could work as a surface-applied adhesive instead.
Players could apply Resin to any surface of a compatible block. Resin would not be a separate block and would not occupy its own block space.
When another block is placed directly against a Resin-coated surface, the two blocks would stick together. For example:
"[Block]🟤[Block]"
The 🟤 represents Resin applied to the first block.
This could allow Redstone engineers to create much smaller and cleaner machines without needing Slime Blocks everywhere. It could be especially useful for compact pistons, traps, flying machines, doors, and other contraptions.
To keep Resin balanced, it could have limitations, such as a maximum number of blocks it can hold together, restrictions on which blocks can be attached, or different behavior when moved by pistons.
Resin wouldn't replace Slime Blocks—it would provide a new, compact way of creating adhesion.
I think Resin could open up a huge number of new possibilities for Redstone engineering while keeping builds cleaner and more compact.
Thank you for considering this idea!
