- Trigger condition: Two adult cats (tamed or stray) within 3-4 blocks, both not sitting. Sitting cats will ignore this mechanic.
- Random chance: When two cats meet in range, there is a low probability (e.g. 5% chance per in-game minute) to trigger confrontation.
- Behaviour sequence:
- First stage: Hiss, growl, hostile idle animation (warning stage, most cases end here and cats separate peacefully)
- Small chance to escalate into swiping / fighting animation.
- Balance rule: No or very low damage. This is mostly visual behavior. Cats won’t kill each other. After fight ends, they separate.
- Same owner tamed cats also have this small chance to quarrel, to reflect real cat territorial behaviour.
Why this helps gameplay
Cats are currently completely passive toward each other. Adding this low-probability quarrel makes villages and player cat colonies feel more alive and realistic. It adds small, charming random moments without breaking survival balance. It does not turn cats into dangerous mobs.
Extra notes
Kittens will not participate in cat fights.
