Add waxed Redstone.

Once Redstone has been placed in a specific configuration, it can be waxed; it will then retain that shape until the wax is removed.

For example, if you wax a corner-shaped or T-shaped piece of Redstone dust, destroying the adjacent dust particles will not alter the shape of the waxed piece itself. This would be extremely useful for both decoration and Redstone circuitry.

Additionally, a distinctive feature could be making this type of Redstone water-resistant—meaning water wouldn't break it, and it would continue to function even when submerged.
