Warm/Cold Tag to Obtain Mob Variants in Existing Superflat Worlds

In my Superflat worlds, I can't get warm biome variants of mobs. I have experienced a cold Superflat. But no warm ones, and there are no multi-biome Superflats. It would be nice if there were a tag that worked. I tried spawn_cold, but it didn't spawn a cold cow. Just a temperate one.
