I am an avid minecrafter and have been playing for 9+ years. In that time, I've familiarized myself with almost every mechanic. I love Minecraft, and I love the direction that was taken adding many of the RPG mechanics and sandbox options, however, I have an issue with the "intended" preset settings. While non-refundable tools that break over time made sense when unenchanted diamond was the peak of gear, now that netherite and enchantments are in the game, being forced to grind for mending seems a bit unfair. Villagers are a special lane of mechanics, and they make sense for an RPG, however, they add a tedious side project many players will find unenjoyable and even boring. Another problem that relates to this is the tedium of grinding for netherite. The sheer challenge presented to the player for tools that perform similarly, if not the same as diamond, seems unbalanced. If mending were removed from the game, unbreaking could be buffed to include up to level 4 or even 5, thus making all tools far more usable in the enchantment system. While this would fix anything up to diamond, the sheer value of netherite tools should make them unbreakable. I don't think that the majority of players would be sad to see that their late-game tools are safe and sound in their inventory, and it would make the bastion's diffuculty make far more sense for the value of the template. having the templates dupe with diamond is smart, but i feel like it should yeild more than one per 7.
