New Golem Genesis: Iron Golem Armour & Universal Wearing Mechanic
The Core Idea
Minecraft already lets us put armour on horses, wolves, and armour stands. The New Golem Genesis proposal expands that system into a universal "armour-wearing" mechanic that includes Iron Golems! Players can equip their village protectors with custom armour to help them survive tough raids and monster attacks.
Crafting Recipe
Because Iron Golems are so massive, crafting their armour requires a heavy investment of resources. To build a set of Diamond Iron Golem Armour, players must fill almost the entire 3x3 crafting grid with 8 Diamonds total, leaving only the bottom-middle slot empty:
- Top Row: Three Diamonds
- Middle Row: Three Diamonds
- Bottom Row: Two Diamonds (left and right slots, leaving the center blank)
How It Works
- Drop-to-Equip: Players do not need a complex menu. You simply drop the finished armour item on the ground near an Iron Golem. The Golem will automatically pick it up and equip it.
- Durability & Breaking: Just like player armour, Golem armour has durability. As the Golem fights off zombies and skeletons, the armour takes damage and will eventually break.
- Visual Damage: To help players know when to craft a replacement, the armour will show physical cracks and damage marks as its durability goes down (similar to how the Iron Golem itself cracks when hurt).
- I would be so hounoured if you added this into vanilla minecraft. Best regards Violet.
