The Weavewood Chasm & Forest For a future Winter Drop, Minecraft could add a new biome concept centered around spiders, caves, and environmental decoration. The Weavewood Forest would be similar to a classic Oak Forest, but with an overgrown appearance, abundant tall grass, and a new decorative block called Glow Silk covering trees, leaves, and the ground like glow lichen or vines. Glow Silk would resemble glowing spiderweb patterns and emit a faint light similar to glow lichen. When placed, it could randomly select from five or six different patterns, creating natural variation. It could also be dyed different colors, giving builders new glowing decorative options. Beneath or near these forests, the Weavewood Chasm could generate as a cave biome heavily covered in naturally generated Glow Silk. Regular spiders and cave spiders would spawn more frequently, making it feel like a large underground spider habitat. The biome would also introduce the Weaver Spider, a white and brown spider with noticeably thicker front legs. Compared to regular spiders, it would move more slowly but deal more damage. Like normal spiders, they would be passive during the day and hostile at night. Weaver Spiders would naturally leave Glow Silk behind on suitable surfaces as they move, making Glow Silk renewable while allowing the spiders to actively shape their environment.
