Currently, fighting underwater relies almost entirely on melee weapons or the Trident, because standard arrows lose momentum immediately after entering the water. To complete the aquatic undead roster and fix underwater ranged combat, I propose adding skeleton drowned along with a new arrow variant.
The Mob: Skeleton Drowned
Appearance: A skeleton covered in kelp, barnacles, and coral, with sea foam bubbling inside its ribcage.
Spawn Locations: Ocean Ruins, Shipwrecks, and Deep Ocean biomes.
Behavior: Instead of sinking like Drowned, Sunken float gracefully at mid-depths, keeping their distance while targeting players from afar.
New Item: Harpoon Arrow
Underwater Hydrodynamics: Unlike regular arrows, Harpoon Arrows cut through water effortlessly, maintaining high velocity and a flat trajectory sub-surface. Outside of water, they are heavy and drop quickly.
Special Effect (Weight): Being struck by a Harpoon Arrow applies a brief Sinking effect, slowly dragging the player or mob toward the ocean floor for 3 seconds.
Player Crafting & Utility
Recipe: 1 Regular Arrow + 1 Prismarine Shard = 4 Harpoon Arrows.
Why it fits: It gives players a craftable, early-to-mid-game alternative to the Trident for bow and crossbow users, making underwater exploration and ocean monument raids far more dynamic.
