I'd like to suggest adding a setting which controls the visibility of versions with critical issues in the launcher for Minecraft: Java Edition. This will help prevent players from opening security holes on their device, causing data loss/corruption, etc.
One of the most common mistakes I see is the use of versions which are vulnerable to the Log4Shell exploit. Playing any versions that are affected by this vulnerablility is a big no-no, as it can be used to perform all kinds of attacks (such as remote code execution).
Hiding versions with critical issues by default will help prevent accidents, as players will have to manually enable them in the Launcher Settings. For example, this setting could be implemented in the form of a checkbox with this text: "Show versions with critical issues (not recommended)"
