Currently, a comparator can read a respawn anchor's charge level, but there is no way to detect the exact moment a player respawns using redstone alone. Observers and sculk sensors do not react to this event.
My suggestion is to add a short comparator pulse from a bed or respawn anchor at the moment a player respawns on it. This would work similarly to how comparators detect other block states, and would enable fully automatic, compact contraptions that cannot be built today. It would also complement the respawn anchor's existing comparator functionality.
