Description

While playing Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 Snapshot 3, I encountered what may be an abnormal mob spawning event.

I was playing in a single-player world on Normal difficulty with no mods. I was working on an iron farm when I suddenly noticed a very large group of zombies together, including several baby zombies. They were moving together from approximately the same direction, and it looked like many of them had appeared or become active at nearly the same time.

The area was mostly an open grassy field. There was only a small dark indentation in a nearby dirt hill, with no large cave or obvious underground area.

Two iron golems were nearby, which prevented the zombies from reaching me.

Expected result

Zombies should spawn normally according to the hostile mob spawning rules.

Actual result

An unusually large group of zombies, including baby zombies, appeared to be together and moved from the same direction in an open area.
