Dear Mojang Team,
As active Bedrock creators, we appreciate the evolution of the Script API and Marketplace content (like RLCraft). However, strict engine sandboxing still limits parity with Java-level creativity. We request key API improvements to allow Add-ons to interact dynamically at runtime:
Cross-Addon Model Access: Allow the Script API to safely query and reference bone hierarchies and geometries of custom entities from other active Add-ons.
Runtime Shaders & Material Overrides: Add RenderDragon hooks for dynamic effects (e.g., stone/ice overlays for petrification or dynamic freezing) and skeletal animation freezing without needing pre-baked entity clones.
Dynamic Skeletal Retargeting: Enable procedural animation systems (e.g., Actions & Stuff) to bind global movement and hit reactions to custom third-party mobs.
Enhanced Custom Block NBT: Support storing complex entity states and poses inside custom item/block data (e.g., harvesting statues with Silk Touch).
Performance can be protected via experimental toggles and strict error handling rather than locking these capabilities entirely. Enabling Add-ons to dynamically communicate will revolutionize Bedrock's ecosystem.
Best regards,
Bedrock Creator Community
