health and hunger bars missing

In Minecraft, my health bar and hunger bar are not showing on the screen. When I turn the HUD off, my character’s hand disappears. When I turn the HUD back on, only the hand comes back, but the health and hunger bars are still missing.
Please check this issue and let me know how I can fix it.
