Boomerangs

Crafted with four sticks, on the top and side of a 3x3 crafting grid, boomerangs would be an interesting addition as a sort of utility tool. When charged up, like a bow, the boomerang can go up to its tier's maximum block distance dealing knock back and light damage on its way back to you. In my rendition, I think it would be a good utility in the aspect of that it can pick up items it passes on its return. Each tier is made by replacing the two edge items (The corners of the crafting grid) with either stone, iron, diamond, or gold. I believe that the maximum number of block a boomerang can go, as well as how many items in can pick up is dependent on which tier it is. Like a stone boomerang wouldn't go as far as a wood one, but it would do more damage and knock back, as well as picking up more items on return. I'm quite sure that Mojang doesn't actually look at these, so to whoever sees this idea, thank you for considering it.
