It is a neutral mob that has affection for the player if rescued from beaches during heavy rain or storms. It can naturally drop items without needing to be killed, such as Cachalot whale teeth and amber mucus, which is very valuable for trading with merchants or crafting, like an echolocation compass that echolocates structures or mobs in caves. The Cachalot whale tooth is used to craft the aquatic spear called the Abyss Spear, where Cachalot whales go to sleep. Cachalot whale teeth are also used to craft the echolocation compass, which helps players find structures and mobs in underground caves. Cachalot whales hunt hostile mobs for food, such as guardians and zombie nautiluses near the ocean abyss. Their drops, like teeth and amber mucus, are obtained naturally when the Cachalot whale finishes feeding and drops the tooth. Amber mucus is obtained when the player rescues a stranded Cachalot whale during heavy rain or storms, when the animal is pushed by the player. Returning to the sea, the Cachalot whale reciprocates by dropping amber mucus on the shore, which is very valuable, especially for trading with the merchant and crafting the echolocation compass. Additionally, the Cachalot whale's tooth is used in crafting the echolocation compass and the abyss spear, which could be ideal for future aquatic drop in the game.
