Delay on break/place

When I was placing/braking blocks in creative mode, there was a small but noticeable delay. When I was placing a block, my hand did the placing animation but the block appeared a little after that and just was an invisible block before it appeared. When I was breaking a block my hand did the breaking animation and the block evaporated and then a half second later, the particles came.
