I love the Happy Ghast. It is a fantastic mob for survival building, exploration and multiplayer transport.
However, it creates balance problems for Bedrock custom escape maps, parkour challenges and puzzle maps.
Many map designers build levels based on terrain barriers such as walls, broken bridges and enclosed zones. Players can simply ride a Happy Ghast to fly over obstacles and skip all carefully designed challenges.
My suggestion: Add a new gamerule allowRideHappyGhast .
- Default value: true (no changes to vanilla gameplay for survival players)
- When set to false , players cannot mount or ride any Happy Ghast.
This solution works for everyone. Survival players can keep using Happy Ghasts normally. Map makers and server owners get an option to protect their custom content without nerfing or removing the mob entirely.
This feature would be very helpful for Bedrock Edition map creators.
