The Enderman is already one of Minecraft’s most iconic mobs, but its core mechanic hasn't changed much: look at them, and they attack. But what if the game flipped that dynamic on its head?
What if, at controlled intervals, Endermen actively tried to step into your line of sight?
How It Works
Instead of passively wandering until you accidentally target them, an Enderman’s AI would periodically calculation-check the player's camera angle. If conditions are met, it quickly teleports directly into your peripheral vision or crosshairs.
To keep the mechanic balanced and prevent endless, frustrating combat loops:
Cooldown Timers: Teleports only trigger every few minutes per mob, keeping the encounters sporadic and unexpected.
Line-of-Sight Triggers: They won't jump into view while you're actively fighting or placing blocks, prioritizing moments of exploration or travel.
Auditory Cues: Subtle, unsettling audio shifts could signal when an Enderman is positioning itself near your FOV.
Why It Enhances the Experience
Paranoia over Annoyance: Instead of just avoiding looking around, players are forced to constantly manage their focal point, turning standard biome traversal into a tense psychological balancing act.
It shifts the Enderman from a passive background hazard into an active stalker, elevating the game's horror elements without breaking fundamental survival gameplay.
