Lighting issue holding Beacon near light source

While holding the Beacon using Vibrant Visuals, the glass around the blue part is always lighted. But when it approaches any light source, the glass around it will suddenly become (usually) darker as it ignores the light of the held Beacon and will only focus on the light source.
