I think deer would be a great addition to Minecraft’s new Dappled Forest biome. They could make the forest feel more alive and add more peaceful wildlife to explore. Deer could be non-hostile mobs that roam around in small herds. Players could feed them sweet berries and breed them, but they wouldn’t be tameable, keeping them as wild animals. If a deer is attacked, it would run away very quickly to escape, making it feel more like real wildlife. Deer could provide a new food source for players through venison. Similar to other animals in Minecraft, deer could drop raw venison when hunted, which could be cooked into cooked venison. This would give players another renewable food option while exploring forests and would fit with deer being a natural part of survival gameplay. Deer could have a unique sniffing animation that makes them feel more like real wildlife. They could occasionally stop while wandering, lower their head, and sniff the air or ground before continuing on their way. This small detail would make them feel more curious and aware of their surroundings.
