I think many console players would love to have the possibility to play Minecraft Java Edition directly on consoles, especially on PlayStation and Xbox.
I understand that Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are different versions with different technical limitations, but I believe bringing Java Edition to consoles would be an amazing option for players who want to experience the original Java gameplay without needing a PC.
There are many servers, mods, maps, and other experiences that are specifically designed for Java Edition. Console players currently cannot access many of these things, even though they already own Minecraft.
I also think this could be especially useful for players who don't have a PC powerful enough to run Java Edition, or simply cannot afford one. Consoles are already capable of running Minecraft very well, so having Java Edition as an additional option would give players more freedom in how they enjoy the game.
It could work similarly to how Minecraft currently offers different versions depending on the platform. Players could choose between Bedrock Edition and Java Edition from the Minecraft launcher, while keeping their purchases and Microsoft account connected.
I know this would probably be complicated to implement, especially because of differences between PC and console hardware, controls, and the Java Edition ecosystem. However, I think it would be worth considering.
