Ancient Ruined Settlements and Lost Villages

Minecraft could have extremely old ruined settlements that existed long before modern villages.

These ruins could occasionally be found buried beneath snow, underground, or submerged underwater. Instead of looking like recently abandoned villages, they would be heavily degraded by time, with only foundations, broken walls and fragments of structures remaining.

Players could excavate these locations using archaeology mechanics to uncover pottery fragments, old objects and other traces of whoever once lived there.

One of Minecraft's most interesting forms of storytelling comes from discovering ancient structures without being directly told their history. Ancient settlements could expand this idea by leaving clues for players to interpret themselves.

Why was the settlement abandoned? Who built it? Was it connected to modern villagers, or something much older?

The game would never need to give a definitive answer. The ruins themselves would tell part of the story and leave the rest to the player's imagination.

This could make exploration feel more mysterious while giving Minecraft's world a stronger sense of history.

    Minecraft already has many unanswered questions and things that players are left to figure out on their own. I think this is really overkill; there should be explanations for many things. Don't make the game too mysterious.
