Hello, Mojang and the Minecraft team! π
I have a suggestion for Redstone that I think could give technical players some interesting new possibilities: two new Redstone Lever variants, a Diagonal (X) Lever and a Square Lever.
π΄ Diagonal (X) Lever
When activated, this lever would send a Redstone signal diagonally, creating an X-shaped activation pattern instead of the normal cross-shaped pattern.
Example:
. R . R .
. . L . .
. R . R .
The block behind the lever would act as the starting/reference block, so the pattern would be aligned consistently with the lever's position.
π¦ Square Lever
The second variant would activate Redstone components in a square-shaped pattern around the reference block.
Example:
R β R β R
βΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β β
RΒ Β Β LΒ Β Β R
βΒ Β Β Β Β Β Β β
R β R β R
The square could be useful for activating multiple Redstone components around a central mechanism without requiring complicated Redstone wiring.
Why add this?
Minecraft Redstone already allows players to create extremely complex machines, but a lot of space and wiring is sometimes required just to distribute a signal in a specific shape.
These two levers would give Redstone players more options while still keeping the system simple and understandable. They could be especially useful for doors, traps, lighting systems, farms, machines, and large-scale Redstone builds.
I think these would fit Minecraft's existing Redstone mechanics while giving technical players another useful building tool.
Thank you for reading my suggestion! β€οΈ
