Iron Golems are important protectors of villages, but they currently only have one purpose: defending villagers. I suggest adding new Iron Golem variants to expand their story and gameplay.
A Corrupted Iron Golem could appear rarely in abandoned villages or during zombie village attacks. The zombie infection would not infect the iron itself, but the magical energy that powers the Iron Golem. It would have higher health, stronger attacks, faster movement speed, and a damaged corrupted appearance.
An Illager Iron Golem could be a powerful enemy created by Illagers. It could appear rarely in Woodland Mansions or as the final boss of difficult Illager Raids. It would have strong attacks, high defense, and a unique appearance showing that it was modified into a weapon.
Instead of only defeating corrupted Iron Golems, players could purify them using 10 Iron and 3 Poppies. After purification, the Iron Golem becomes a friendly protector again.
There is also a very rare chance that a purified Iron Golem recognizes the player who saved it. By giving it 10 Poppies, the player can turn it into a personal guardian that follows and protects them.
This idea would expand Iron Golem lore, make abandoned villages and raids more interesting, and add a new type of companion while keeping Minecraft's existing style.
