Overview
The Amethyst Spotlight is a directional Redstone light block that projects a straight beam of light instead of spherical ambient illumination. Additionally, it can act as an optical signal relay to transfer light and Redstone signals wirelessly.
Crafting Recipe
Center: 1 Redstone Lamp
Top, Bottom, Left, Right: 1 Amethyst Shard (plus shape, no corners required).
Custom GUI & Range Upgrades
Interactive Interface: Right-clicking the block opens a custom GUI menu.
Range Slot: Insert Amethyst Shards to extend beam length:
0 Shards (Base): 5 blocks range.
1 to 10 Shards: Adds +1 block range per shard (up to 10 Shards = 15 blocks maximum).
Receiver & Redstone Transmission (Balanced Mechanics)
Receiver Upgrade: By default, the block only emits light. Placing 1 Diamond into the GUI's Receiver Slot enables Receiver Mode, allowing it to detect incoming light beams from other spotlights and chain the light beam forward automatically.
Redstone Output Upgrade: Placing 1 Redstone Block into the Redstone Slot allows a receiving spotlight to convert detected light into a physical Redstone signal, powering adjacent blocks, dust, and lamps.
Interruption: Any solid block, entity, mob, or player passing through the beam instantly breaks the connection, turning off downstream receivers.
Color Tinting
Placing Stained Glass or Stained Glass Panes directly in front of the spotlight alters the color of the emitted light beam.
