Birds and how they could bring life to minecraft

So a little backstory so you can understand me better: I feel bad about killing bees in my world when they randomly appear when I'm cutting down trees for wood. Hence why, having my honey farm building full, i felt bad about leaving them there, so i but them above a junge tree like a normal nest and seeing them have to hover around to fall down to the flowers closest made me think why couldn't have birds with the code structure of bees?
Here is my idea: Take the chance now that there seems to be more hay around and have a nest be one block of hay with some wheat on the side!! Birds could hide in there; the max birds per nest could be 2. Food-wise, maybe they could interact the same way a bee does with a flower, with a block that has some ambience, like a firefly bush but with particles that look like worms??? Birds however, would not have particles of polen so i guess deactivating those could be easy??
