The Problem:
Currently, the combat system is split. Java Edition has the "Sweeping Edge" enchantment (horizontal sword swing that hits multiple enemies), while Bedrock Edition lacks this feature entirely. This creates confusion and unfairness, especially for cross-platform players.
My Suggestion:
I propose fully unifying the combat mechanics between Java and Bedrock, starting with adding the Sweeping Edge enchantment to Bedrock Edition. This would:
· Make both versions feel identical in PvP and PvE.
· Improve Bedrock's survival mode gameplay against mob swarms.
· Create a smoother experience for players who switch between platforms.
Additional Idea:
If full unification is too complex, at least add the sweep attack as a toggleable option in Bedrock's world settings, so both playstyles are respected.
Why this matters:
Minecraft’s strength is cross-play, but having different combat rules breaks the "one game" feeling. Unifying them would be a huge step forward for the community.
