As a new Xbox Series X owner and a long‑time Minecraft fan, I was excited to buy Minecraft again — for the third time — just to experience the upgraded visuals on the console. But after purchasing it, I was surprised to learn that Minecraft Realms isn’t included with Xbox Game Pass.
Even after buying the game, I still needed an active Game Pass subscription just to play online with friends. On top of that, Realms requires an additional monthly fee, even for the basic server tier. For a game built around creativity and community, these extra layers of cost make the multiplayer experience feel unnecessarily restricted.
Including Realms access (or at least a basic tier) with Game Pass would make Minecraft far more accessible for players who already invest in the Xbox ecosystem. It would also better support the social, collaborative side of the game that keeps fans — like me — buying it across multiple platforms.
I believe adding Realms access to Game Pass would improve player satisfaction, reduce friction for new Xbox users, and strengthen Minecraft’s multiplayer community.
