Wandering Traders and Pillagers often distract players, as they mainly offer leads, leather, and ominous bottles without providing meaningful purpose. While adventurers and PvP enthusiasts may enjoy them, builders find them less valuable. Here’s a list of ideas to enhance Pillagers and Wandering Traders, making them more engaging for builders and decorators who want vibrant builds.
Players have been using normal villagers as NPCs in their towns, but they often get stuck, run away, or are easily killed by zombies. Additionally, players sometimes manipulate pillagers to break their crossbows for various farming and custom profession-related purposes.
Update:
Wandering Traders:
- Does not despawn
- Interact with other villagers
- When the player trades instead stock finhing, no trades get n-1 when all trade stock ends and gets the trades list refreshed until only 1 refreshable trade left
- Does not breed but picks up food and shares with villagers
Pillagers:
- Disarmed pillagers scare villagers until they have been given a special nametag to make them count and behave as passive to villagers and player (does not scare villagers)
- Making pillagers passive requires breaking the crossbow first and giving them a special nametag
- Passive pillagers interact with villagers and aren't killed by other pillagers or zombies
- Does not pick up food, doesn't eat bread or share food with villagers
- Passive pillagers sometimes wander around too
- Passive pillagers have a slight texture change too
