Introduction
With the recent addition of zombie mounts (Husk Camel, Zombie Nautilus), it became clear that the zombie rider infects their mount. However, the classic Chicken Jockey still uses a regular chicken. This creates a logical inconsistency. I propose adding a Zombie Chicken to resolve this issue.
Appearance and Behavior
-
Replaces the standard chicken when a Baby Zombie Chicken Jockey spawns (5% chance).
-
If the rider is killed, the Zombie Chicken becomes neutral – it will only attack if provoked, dealing 2–3 hearts of damage with its beak. Otherwise, it simply wanders like a passive mob.
-
-
Health: 8 HP (4 hearts) – more resilient than a regular chicken.
Drops
-
0–2 Rotten Flesh (100% chance).
Appearance
-
Pale green, rotten skin; torn feathers with exposed patches; red glowing eyes; limp comb.
-
Sounds: a mix of chicken clucking and zombie groans.
Why This Fits the Game
-
Fills a logical gap regarding zombie mounts.
-
Makes Chicken Jockeys more complex and interesting.
-
Enhances the eerie atmosphere in swamp and dark forest biomes.
Conclusion
The Zombie Chicken is a small but logical addition that enriches Minecraft's undead ecosystem without disrupting balance.
