The ancient statue

The ancient statue is a new... entity?

Found in the deep dark.

Generally is non-moving but...

...when in complete darkness it springs to life!

It comes in at a spooky three blocks tall and appears as a villager statue with wings, making it a gargoyle of a sort, with soul-blue eyes.

That's it. :)

Sleep well...

Extra edit: if you enchant your pickaxe with artifact collector you can mine the statue without turning it into a villager, so you can put it in your museum!

Official Trivia: "The most spooky tale villagers can tell is one of the ancient statue coming to the surface."

When a player is very close to the statue, it tilts a bit to make them jump back.

Using a pickaxe on a ancient statue will turn it back into a villager, the wings falling off forever.

The ancient statue is commonly found submerged in a deep dark pool.
