Structures that are abandoned houses, not just campsites.

I know this was in the early version of the game, but this one could be made out of wood (depending variant in what biome you are in) and have a roof and a actual door. It would have 2 straw beds and a cushion, and a loot chest with basic tools and armor. Players could customize the house and build off of it. The catch is there would be few in a world so you'd really have to search.
