Right now, Minecraft: Education Edition runs on the Bedrock engine. While this is great for performance, it stops students from importing high-quality Java world files, structural schematics, and advanced computer science mods that are heavily used in the Minecraft community.I propose that Mojang updates Minecraft Education to support native Java world compatibility, or officially launches a highly optimized version of the Java engine directly onto the Google Play Store for Chromebooks and mobile devices. Why this helps students and schools:Better STEM Learning: Java’s Redstone logic and command block systems are much more consistent for teaching computer science, logic, and automation compared to Bedrock.Access to Historic & Community Maps: Students can currently download incredible educational worlds made by the Java community (like massive historical city recreations and team-building survival maps) but cannot play them on their school Chromebooks because of file type blocks.Parity: Students who learn coding and map-making at home on Java Edition should be able to seamlessly bring their projects into the classroom on Education Edition without needing complicated third-party file converters like Chunker. Please optimize the engine's memory usage so it can run safely on standard 4GB school laptops!
