Bat Rework Idea

Bats are one of the oldest mobs in Minecraft, but they still don't have a real purpose. I think they deserve a rework that makes them more interesting. For example, you could feed a bat, and after that it would lead you to a nearby underground ore that is completely hidden by stone and can't normally be seen. This is just one idea, but I think bats deserve a meaningful rework after all these years.
