feeding without taming

right now you only have two options, feeding an animal and risk taming it or don't feed it at all. but what if you could feed animals without taming them? like foxes for example, when the player drops berries or raw chicken on the ground, the fox can eat it and not breed with other foxes. so what if you could drop raw meat for wolves and they can eat it without you taming or breeding them? same goes for all other animals that you can tame, drop what they can eat, and they'll eat it without taming or breeding
