Please expand the Bedrock offhand

The reason I think we should have an expansion on the offhand is for mob farms, lighting food, and an extra storage slot because how come you can put shells in your offhand, but not weapons for mob farms that have mending on it or food or lighting so you can light up the area because why can you put no shells, but not your own tool so please Minecraft fix it so that everything can be placed in the offhand thank you
